Your photographer

For those new here, I'm Jamie. I've been a professional photographer for 13 years now. My career started after graduating from Film School here in Vancouver.

I have worked in many industries from food to customer service and retail, telecommunications to background acting. At one point I was an on-call rides attendant at Playland. Even within the photography realm itself, I've photographed in different genres and started my career in Wedding and Family photography. I've dipped my toes into wildlife and product photography. And now portraits, brand, and editorial work.

When I was in school, my mindset was that you went to school for that one particular thing and if you didn't make it work, you were a failure. But as an adult, I've realized that all this experience is so valuable. When in Film School, we were taught to know and understand each role that played a part in making a production happen. Because even if you ended up specializing in one role, it made you a better team player as you understand what your peers are going through.

Today, I am grateful to have made a great life for myself here in the Lower Mainland and while I’m not in and out of businesses and firms in the Vancouver area, you can find me working on Indie Film Sets as a Stills photographer, working on personal projects and capturing creative brand imagery for Makers such as Winters Weather Knits.

I've already gotten to capture a few fun projects and can't wait to see what else I will learn this year.

Photo by my husband who got a new phone and took the most number of photos he’s ever taken that weekend.
