Preparing for your Headshot Session
-
Dress for your brand.
Start with neutral tones for your first layer, then add pops of colour that align with your company’s brand. Dress like you were meeting a client.
-
Keep hair neat & tidy.
Keep hair clean and neatly brushed whether down or tied back. Use a little hair spray or gel to prevent fly aways.
-
Be you.
Make up is optional. If you wear some when meeting clients, feel free to come make up ready. If you sport a more natural look, go with that but do bring some chapstick as this goes a long way. Don’t forget to have fun and be you!
Business attire
Follow company dress code or dress as if you are meeting a client or attending a company event.
Brand colours
Follow company brand colours.
Start with a neutral base: white, grey or pastel
Add on blazer, sport coat, cardigan, etc
Add on pop of colour: tie in company colour, etc
An alternate way for pops of colour is to start with your key colour as your base. This might be a blouse or shirt and then layer on a neutral black or grey.
*Avoid white as an outer layer if we are photographing on a white background.
Props
If we’ve discussed a creative option for your brand, this might mean having a prop for each person. Please communicate with your marketing team to determine what prop you need to bring to your session if applicable.
