Welcome 2024

I didn’t realize what it was until partway through my holiday break that I was extremely burnt out come year-end. Usually, I find I’m able to write a pretty heart-felt message in my social media and newsletters but back then wasn’t able to find the words.

The truth is, I had a very successful 2023, and feel like I need to do a bit of a happy dance now to celebrate this. I met so many new and wonderful people including Lise of Good Digital and received my Craftsman of Photographic Arts in person with the Professional Photographers of Canada in the Spring. I pushed myself to create in ways that have helped me grow as a creative and feel like I’ve found my style in video creation again - so thank you to everyone who’s been on this wild ride with me.

Last year, my theme of the year was “Simple”, clean and clutter-free physical and digital spaces, clearer communication, and simple gear to help me create.

Adding to my themes this year is “Automation”. As business and technology change, sometimes I spend a year or two with new tools and software and fail to use the features that are meant to make my life easier. It often is a bit of a learning process and things can get quite messy and repetitive for a while during the busy season. I also hate to say this because I don’t think I am “old” but more and more these days I’m finding I’m not as technologically savvy as I used to be! My goal for the next few months is to tackle tasks that have been using up more time than needed and maximize what my apps can do for me.

This year’s goals are to:

  • Figure out what has been taking up more time than necessary

  • Maximize what my current CRM platforms can do to free up more of my time and mental space

  • Create templates for Social Media and Email without sounding robotic

I have a lot to look forward to this year and am excited to get started. Here’s to a great 2024.
