Snippets of my past

When we were back in Singapore in 2016, I had begun reflecting on my heritage, my family history and story. I had this feeling that this would be one of the last opportunities to ask questions. It was. A couple years later, my Ah Mah passed away, a year later, the pandemic hit and my Ah Gong passed away shortly after. I still remember the car backing out of the driveway of my grandparent’s home in Malaysia and I took one last photo of them watching us leave. On our ride to the airport, I wondered if that was the last time I’d see them. It was for my Ah Mah.

On this trip, I pulled out all the photo albums that my grandparents had kept of us and took a few photos in and around my grandparent’s home with the prints in them.

As life goes on, little mundane moments of life change as we grow. These points in our lives don’t last forever. as we evolve as people and move into different chapters of our lives.

It’s been great being able to have these memories to look back on and I encourage everyone to make sure to document your life, even those little moments that seem repetitive and not all that “special” in those moments.
